Can you hear it? The clink of champagne flutes, the popping of corks and the distant thundering of hooves……Cup Day excitement is already bubbling in Bali and it’s time to get your party checklist sorted. Following two insanely successful years, The Canggu Club is once again playing host to the island’s most popular and unique Cup Day event. Let’s be honest, if you can’t be front and centre at Flemington come November 1, Canggu Club’s Lawn Party is the ultimate ticket for cup day fun in Bali.

With all of the gilt, glamour and sparkle of the Spring Racing Carnival, Canggu Club’s Melbourne Cup 2016 party is an up market affair, their lawn resplendent with white marquee, linen covered tables and a multitude of screens to view one of the most widely watched horse races the world over! Granted, the actual race is really what the day is all about but the party held in its honour is something else to behold!

soleman-baliTime and effort spent on selecting just the right racing attire is obvious as elegantly clad couples swan through the gates dressed in the style of the moment and with more than a little determination to take line honours in the fashions on the field – a traditional part of cup day that often receives more attention than the race itself! French champagne and cold beers flow freely from 11am and delicate canapés are offered around as a precursor to the race day feast that’s yet to come. Delicate floral arrangements adorn tables of ten and the feeling of fun and excitement is palpable!

Much more than just lunch on the lawn, Canggu Club Melbourne Cup Parties are renowned for being one of the most sought after social events on the Bali calendar. Recent years have seen a growing trend of international guests returning to the island around November, specifically to attend Bali’s biggest lawn party and judging by the hype that’s building around November 1st, this year will be no exception.

You could be forgiven for thinking the last two years of Cup Day entertainment would be impossible acts to follow with international acts the likes of Jon Stevens and Ian Moss, however they’ve hit the jackpot once again by securing singer songwriter, Daryl Brathwaite. In addition to a longstanding and successful solo career, Braithwaite also enjoyed fame as frontman for popular Aussie band Sherbet, a hugely successful group boasting a run of 20 consecutive hits during the 70s and 80s.

Braithwaite hits the stage from 4pm but the day’s entertainment commences from 11am with DJs and live support acts performing from 2pm. But the dancing doesn’t stop there! Music continues into the evening until 8pm.

In keeping with recent years, a percentage of the proceeds from the day goes to trusted local humanitarian charity Solemen Indonesia, whose tireless efforts have provided much needed assistance for the disadvantaged in Bali. Raffle tickets will be readily available throughout the day and prizes up for grabs include incredible accommodation and dining vouchers.

With only a little over a month to go until the big event, tickets sales are amping up and tables are filling quickly. Get together with a group of friends and book a table of ten for a discounted price or simply purchase individual marquee tickets and enjoy the surprise of whom you might be seated next to on the day! Detailed information, pricing and online ticket purchases are available via Canggu Club website www.cangguclub.com tickets can also be purchased at Canggu Club reception.
