Perched on a clifftop overlooking Nusa Dua Beach and the endless ocean, Glamp Nusa is new. With 40 luxurious tents perched on the clifftop, it’s easy to see why people love this. The views are spectacular and the tents are comfortable and luxurious. I almost didn’t want to leave.
Glamping is not usually my thing, so I was taken aback by how much I liked this. No, I loved it.
With a king-sized bed, colonial-style furnishings, including a desk with a bird’s eye view, two verandahs and a luxurious bathroom, it rivals many 5-star hotels I’ve stayed in. A minibar and a sound system were all I needed to be seduced into my hammock and watch the paragliders colour the sky with their incredible sails.
The night I stayed was opening night and a crowd of almost 250 people gathered on the oceanfront lawn to party. With food stations and various bars set up, and a live band playing, it’s easy to see why this is promoted as a weddings and events space as well as an alternative staycation.
The gardens surrounding the tents (which are pretty bungalows dressed as tents) are mature while waterways add to the peaceful feeling of staying here. They also add a level of privacy I doubt you’d find in a camping set-up. Before the party started I settled into my verandah with a book, made a cup of tea from the selection at the mini bar and took in the views.
At certain times of the year, the wind is right for the paragliders to launch from a spot beside the Glamp Nusa property. So close you feel you could touch them. Many guests decided to try and I was sorely tempted but curiosity sent me on a wander through the facilities instead.
The party was in full swing by the time I emerged from the shower, dressed and ready. Run by the same operators as Bali Beach Glamping in Tabanan, their experience is clear to see. The food is delicious; on opening night there were grills making satay and a babi guling stand alongside a pop-up ice cream parlour to compliment the canapes and desserts that emerged from the restaurant kitchen. It was a glorious night under the stars.
In the morning I woke early and dived into the infinity pool along with some of the less hungover guests. From there it’s a short walk to the restaurant for coffee on the terrace followed by a hot and healthy breakfast. The restaurant also has a rooftop for more intimate gatherings and the views from up there are spectacular.
Luckily I stayed two nights and my second night was a lot more chilled. Dinner and drinks and then time to sink into my gorgeous bed with crisp cotton sheets and an abundance of pillows. The wifi was fast, so I put a movie on before sinking into a deep sleep.
Glamp Nusa is a great alternative to a 5-star hotel. There are family-friendly facilities and larger tents along with a host of attractions nearby including some beautiful beaches. This is a stay I recommend to all my friends, it’s a great way to relax, just check in and forget. With an excellent service team who arrive promptly with any request, a good restaurant on site, and lots of space to chill out and soak up the sun, glamping in Nusa Dua makes a lot of sense.
