Top 10 Bali Beach Clubs to Visit in 2022

Bali Beach Clubs

From Curfews to Sunsets and Cocktails - Bali’s beach clubs are among the best in the world

After 2 years of closure, Bali has finally reopened to visitors. There’s a lot to be said for a beach day with Bintangs and nasi goreng. However, if you want to pick up the beat you’ll want to head to one of the island’s famous beach clubs and indulge in fruit-filled cocktails, soundtracks that float on the breeze and swimming pools straight out of the pages of a glossy magazine. Bali has the lot, from laid-back chill out venues from new ones with refreshing concepts to our favourites that have both survived and thrived.

Here is our list of the top 10 Bali beach clubs to soak up the sun with cocktails, enjoy fabulous food and cocktails, and dance to the tunes with your besties.

SEMINYAK

Mari Beach Club

The sustainable design of Bali’s newest beach club, Mari Beach Club, echoes Bali’s past and inspires optimism at this refreshingly different venue on Batu Belig beach.

Set at the entrance is an embodiment of Mount Agung, a striking structure called The Dome where guests are welcomed into a world that highlights the unique character of Bali. The descending polished staircase from The Dome to the beachside venue symbolises the Balinese rice terraces, the ancient one-of-a-kind irrigation system locally known as Subak.

Perfectly situated between Seminyak and Canggu, the chic eco-friendly structures found across the venue are the result of an exciting collaboration with Ibuku, a Bali-based team of talented designers, architects, and engineers well-known for redefining luxury through sustainable architecture and design, utilizing bamboo. With an eye to protecting and preserving Bali for future generations, sustainability goes beyond the architecture with intriguing entertainment, reflective cuisine sourced locally and creative cocktails that waste nothing.

potato head

Design-driven and a hive of interesting activities, Potato Head Beach Club is part of the brand new Desa Potato Head, the sprawling complex that sees the beach club doubled in size, a new hotel, curated art galleries, more bars, dining experiences and a vast rooftop venue.

Located on the beachfront where the endless beats float on fresh ocean breezes and incredible design drives every experience. Laid out over many levels, maximizing the incredible views framed by sparkling pools, Potato Head drives a distinctly Indonesian beat. From world-class parties to cultural events Desa Potato Head has become an entertainment precinct that offers something for everyone. From its lofty Indonesian restaurant, Kaum, at the top to its sustainable seafood grill, Ijen, a bistro menu, and a busy wood-fired pizzeria, Potato Head adds style and sustainability and invites everyone to share the experience.

KU DE TA

A place where time stands still, just long enough to enjoy the allure of life. For almost two decades, the world has been enchanted by Ku De Ta’s cuisine, charm, and celebrations.

Nestled on Seminyak’s sandy shores, this idyllic beachfront space was created for sun-drenched days and unforgettable island nights. This is a Bali icon, where moments are shared over exceptional food, drinks, and soulful soundtracks from dawn ’til dusk.

MANO BEACH HOUSE

When it comes to the art of chilling out, Mano has this one made in the shade. Carving out its own unique niche on the shores of Petitenget beach

Mano shows that size doesn’t matter. The redesign of Mano has created a picture-perfect beach bar and restaurant that incorporates tribal influences and the best of Balinese design. Open to the beach, with a shaded pool, the pretty pool deck is dotted with straw umbrellas, beanbags and sun lounges. A covered terrace is the perfect chill-out spot for casual meals and sunset sessions. The vibrant, modern menu offers healthy beach club classics, stylish Indonesian food, fabulous super salads, delicious grills and an all-day breakfast. Mano’s curated soundtrack plays perfectly in this intimate venue.

CANGGU

COMO BEACH CLUB

Serving a generous dose of luxe while staying true to the surf culture ingrained in the Northern Canggu beaches, COMO Beach Club is a stylish take on the famous ‘surf shack’ with a large open-air restaurant and a stunning seaside pool.

COMO Uma Canggu makes a splash on this formerly laid back stretch of beach. As part of the hotel, COMO Beach Club gives guests first priority but there’s space to play and the airy restaurant is well worth a visit. Sitting directly on the beachfront, COMO Beach Club puts a little dazzle into the Echo Beach mix of sea, surf, and sunsets.

LA BRISA

Ensconced on the coast of Echo Beach is La Brisa, which fittingly is Spanish for ‘sea breeze’. It is safe to say there is no place quite like this coastal bar and Spanish-inspired seafood restaurant. Inspiration has been drawn from a beautiful pairing of all things nautical with an eco-sustainable twist.

La Brisa is built from the reclaimed wood from old fishing boats, prompting you to wonder how an adaptation of ‘Castaway’ could look so chic. Images gleaned from Hemmingway’s ‘Old Man and The Sea’ appear randomly in various mediums, creating a kind of oceanic wonderland. Gaze at the surf as you settle into colourful bean bags, choose a seat at the ocean-swept bar or head upstairs to enjoy the views, as you make the ‘tough’ choice of selecting a local seafood dish freshly caught earlier that day. As part of the La Familia group that includes La Laguna, La Favela, and La Plancha, these guys know how to party, but the quiet times are equally good.

FINNS BEACH CLUB

Finns Beach Club is massively popular from early morning surf breaks followed by breakfast to spectacular sunsets to music-filled nights.

A host of bars and restaurants provide sustenance for the hungry and thirsty guests who line the day beds and fill the pool. Finns is all about having fun, no pretensions, with two pools ( including an adults-only area) and a host of eateries and bars under the bamboo roofs.

The restaurant offers a sophisticated and healthy approach to beach club classics. Think oysters and champagne, crisp, fresh salads, seafood, grills and French-inspired grazing packages on the endlessly green lawn.

ULUWATU

SAVAYA

Savaya is well-known for its impressive and luxurious events with delicious cocktails and bites. It’s an energy fueled weekend destination for you and your friends. Ideal for those who love to dance.

On a clear day you can see forever from the designer deck of Savaya, Bali’s renowned clifftop club. Savaya redefines your day club perception with a breath-taking design, exceptional service, stunning views of the Indian Ocean and beyond. It also knows how to have fun with the playful Cube bar literally defying gravity as it reflects the sun. Some go to dance, others go to enjoy the incredible horizon pool at the edge of the cliff. Some love booking a table with VIP perks.

ulu cliffhouse

Ulu Cliffhouse harnessing the energy and boldness from the rolling waves and vast expanse of ocean below, embraces the beauty of Uluwatu, Bali.

With a fabulous designer fit-out, one of the world’s leading chefs shaping the menu, and a whole crew of cool collaborators from musicians to artists and an influential surf crew, Ulu Cliffhouse looks like Ralph Lauren met Richard Branson on the lip of a major breaker.

Ulu Cliffhouse is making to create a destination beach club to rival some of the world renowned venues. The venue on the edge of the cliff opens itself to fabulous possibilities from parties to weddings, long lunches, and legendary sunset sessions. Our favourite thing about Ulu Cliffhouse is the understated cool of this place. They make everyone feel like VIP, and the menu is perfectly tuned for a day by the pool. Snacks, al fresco lunches and moonlit dinners go down a treat with some cocktail action never far away at Ulu Cliffhouse.

EL KABRON BALI

El Kabron, a venue that has to be seen to be believed. Found cliffside, 50 meters above sea level in Uluwatu, you’ll feel like you’re perched on the edge of the world. With a breathtaking 180 degree view which faces directly to sunset, this incredible venue is ideal for picturesque and secluded pool lounging.

While you do your best to take in the spectacular view, we recommend partaking in the beautiful drinks menu (ok we’ll say it – do the champagne and oysters) while you enjoy the lovely infinity pool, live music, and outstanding service.

Their Spanish-inspired menu features an outstanding selection of tapas, cheeses, olives and our personal favourite; El Kabron’s famous Paella! The wine list is also a cut above the rest. This venue is an absolute must-see!

SUNDAYS BEACH CLUB

Right next door, sharing one of Bali’s most beautiful beaches, the turquoise water laps the brilliant white sand beach at Sundays in a very Australian way.

The inclination arrives above the beach club where the restaurant, elevated cabanas and terraced sun loungers all look to the sea. The beach classics are here and so too is a Chef-driven menu that reflects the stunning luxury villas of The Ungasan, the exclusive villa-only resort on the cliff top. Sundays is about families, friends and fun but with a real touch of class.

NUSA DUA

reef beach club at the apurva kempinski

Reef Beach Club is one to add to your Nusa Dua list, it’s the perfect day to night hang out at the foot of the impressive Apurva Kempinski. Call it the X factor, the wow factor, whatever, there is something intangible that takes the Reef Beach Club, and all the venues at this monolithic Nusa Dua resort to the next level.

Enjoying cocktail and canapes by the pool, watching the colours change over the sea before the sunset, felt like the perfect way to end a day of spa treatments and activities. Reef Beach Club is open all day, and currently, there’s no entry fee, so outside guests can enjoy it as well. The sparkling long pool overlooks a private crescent of golden sand lapped by clear water, generous day beds surround the pool with floating white curtains for privacy. On the weekends live music features from sunset, making this a romantic spot to enjoy the warm breezes.
