Returning to Samanvaya Luxury Resort for the second time was akin to stepping back into a world where tranquillity intertwines seamlessly with unparalleled hospitality.
Nestled in the heart of Sidemen, Bali, Samanvaya, an exclusive adults-only retreat, proved once again to be a haven of serenity and connection.
The warmth of Samanvaya extends beyond the aesthetics, manifesting in the familiar faces among the staff. Meeting Diah and Langkir, friends from my initial stay in 2021, felt like a reunion with old friends. Their genuine hospitality and warm welcome added a personal touch that made my stay even more memorable and showcased the staff’s dedication to guest satisfaction.
This time, my chosen sanctuary was the Batari Villa, which unfolded across two stories with panoramic views of the mountains. The room epitomizes comfort and sophistication, with a bed so inviting it promises a night of rejuvenating sleep. The thoughtful bamboo design adds a layer of charm, making the space feel like an inviting cocoon. The crown jewel, however, was the hot tub—a personal oasis within the room that turned every evening into a spa-like retreat.
Beyond the borders of the resort, my exploration extended to the nearby river, just an 8-minute drive away. This excursion not only added a local touch to my experience but also allowed me to connect with the villagers, a culturally enriching experience that is highly recommended.
Samanvaya’s commitment goes beyond providing a luxurious adult-only retreat. The resort actively contributes to the Sidemen village through its sustainability programs, making guests a part of a community-driven initiative. Its commitment to protecting both the environment and community makes it a leading eco-resort.
Stepping into the culinary embrace of Asri Dining is a transition curated by the culinary virtuosos, Langkir and Mang Ari. As the sun gracefully descends, the dinner experience unveils itself with the tantalizing aroma of Indonesian Basil Chicken. Each bite is a celebration of flavour, an exquisite dance of Indonesian spices. Accompanied by the refreshing notes of fresh watermelon juice, the dining experience becomes a harmonious symphony of taste and refreshment, setting the stage for a delicious evening amidst the enchanting atmosphere.
As the sun rises in Sidemen, I make my way to enjoy a breakfast that’s hard to beat. Picture this: a twist on Eggs Benedict, enjoyed with views of rice fields and mountains. Asri Dining is undeniably the best restaurant in Sidemen, turning each meal into an experience against the stunning backdrop of Samanvaya’s natural beauty. It’s more than just a meal; it’s a tasty start to your day, leaving a delicious mark on both your palate and your morning memories.
Against the canvas of my exclusive retreat, tranquillity and taste seamlessly intertwined. The villa offered more than just comfort; it became a sanctuary, a haven of serenity. Within this picturesque resort, genuine connections blossomed, nurtured by the attentive staff who, like skilled artisans of hospitality, added genuine warmth.
As I bid farewell to this retreat, the reverberations of memories linger—the adults-only haven where time slowed, the threads of authentic connections woven with care, and the culinary symphony of Asri Dining. Each element contributed to an extraordinary experience, leaving an enduring mark on both the senses and the spirit, crafting a chapter in my journey that will be revisited with fondness and gratitude.
