Karma Resorts Bali gets an upgrade.
When former music promoter, John Spence, launched Karma Resorts, he came up with the perfect name. Designed for those who believe pleasure is part of the cure. When you check in at a Karma resort you feel as though you must have done something right in life. Flash forward to 2019 and the resort group that puts great experiences at the top of their services list, has upgraded its facilities and packages to add even more memorable moments for holidaymakers and daytrippers.
Karma Beach
Bali’s most glamorous beach club for the location, music, food, cocktails and comfort, has upgraded their hill tram so that the staggeringly beautiful trip down the limestone cliffs to the azure beach is smoother, faster and takes more people. Yes! That means less time waiting in line and more time on this beautiful stretch of beach.
Once you’ve arrived, a new menu filled with Mediterranean classics and a host of gourmet wellness-inspired dishes awaits. Cocktails come with flair and the new Ocean Spa and yoga platform takes reconnecting with your luxurious self to new levels. Kayaks and stand up paddle boards as well as volleyball, together with a line up of international DJs, makes Karma Beach one of Bali’s best days out.
Karma Spas
The new Ocean Spa means you don’t even have to leave the beach to enjoy some of the island’s most heavenly treatments. The list of treatments, put together by Karma’s global spa director, Judy Chapman, range from soothing relaxation to rejuvenation treatments. For couples this is one of the most romantic ways to spend time together. Karma Kandara’s cliff top spa remains one of the island’s most geographically blessed spas, and now you get to choose from these two amazing options.
Karma Jimbaran’s Spa has also had a total makeover and both relaxation and therapeutic treatments are on the menu at this stunning villa property.
Reconnect with yoga and wellness packages. Yoga programs play out across the island but with the appointment of Karma’s first global yoga ambassador, the seaside yoga pavilion now offers programs that hit the spot in so many ways. With a background of softly rolling waves, washed by a fresh ocean breeze, there are few better ways to start the day. Wellness packages and regular wellness weeks put the focus on balance and include a whole new wellness menu to kick start a healthy holiday. Jimbaran plays along with regular yoga and pilates sessions poolside.
Check the events schedule or book one of their fabulous customised packages to immerse yourself in a luxury retreat tailored to make you feel good. Rock star service is part of the package.
Karma Kandara
With some of the most fabulous cliff top villas, check in to create your own Karma experience. Make it as active, indulgent or chilled out as you want it to be. Dive into a full wellness package or balance it with amazing meals at their cliff top restaurant Di Mare, where Executive Chef, Joseph Antonishek gets to play out his Asian meets LA via the Med menus in his unique style. Throughout Karma, Joseph has spent the last year updating and redesigning all the menus across the resort and it shines with a new polish that plays with flavours, techniques and geography. It’s exactly what was needed to upgrade Karma Kandara’s dining experiences.
Karma Jimbaran
This fabulous, sprawling resort doesn’t get as much attention as Kandara or even Karma Reef in Gili Meno, as it doesn’t go for the flash and it’s set back from Jimbaran beach. However, this is also a large part of its appeal. Karma Jimbaran is home to a collection of beautiful villas, each with large swimming pools and serene gardens. It’s a place to unpack and unwind, with a host of great features and a neighborhood that is full of character and attractions. Yet the villas feel like spacious homes and once you close the doors, your own piece of Bali is revealed. With an upgraded spa, a well stocked wine bar and Jimbaran beach directly across the road, this gem of a resort is possibly Karma’s best kept secret.
Karma Reef Gili Meno
If running away to a tropical island where the sea is as blue as the sky and the sand is pearly white, then check in to Karma Reef in Lombok’s Gili Meno. After last year’s earthquake, Karma took the time to recover and refurbish the seaside resort to make it even more beautiful than before. Step out of your two-story bungalow, or a beautifully decorated glamping tent, on to a sparkling white beach. Snorkel directly in front to discover why this island is a firm favourite among the famous Gili islands. Here you’ll find an amazing coral restoration sculpture project and large turtles among the colourful coral and sea creatures.
Gili Meno is the quietest of the three islands and for my money, has the most beautiful beaches. There is just enough to do to keep the active traveller busy and more than enough places to simply lay your hat, catch up on the latest book, have a glorious massage and enjoy some of the best food on the islands. If your idea of paradise is spending the day wrapped in a sarong, waking up to the sounds of the sea and experiencing an island that feels like your own, Karma Reef is a great holiday experience.
Karma Resorts are now dotted around the world and each one boasts an amazing location. A holiday at one of their Bali resorts or on the little paradise
island off Lombok, is enough to reinforce the feeling that all is good in the world, at least as long as this vacation lasts.
